Tamarindo
Located on the North west Pacific coast of Costa Rica is Tamarindo, and it is one of the most beautiful beach destinations in the country. Not only does the town of Tamarindo have a great beach, it also is a nature paradise, and home to many species of turtles, birds, monkeys, and reptiles.
To the north of Tamarindo is Playa Grande, and to the south, Playa Langosta. This makes the town an excellent home base for planning day activities and excursions. Horse back riding, sport fishing, sailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and many nature tours can be arranged from this destination.
The town itself is populated by people from many countries who have made this beautiful town their home. The popularity of Tamarindo has brought development to the town, making it one of the cleanest and best organized towns of the Pacific northwest. In the last few years Tamarindo has gone from a quiet unknown pueblo, to a thriving community. There are several excellent restaurants and places to eat, grocery stores, fresh produce and juice stands, a variety of souvenir and clothing shops, art galleries, a medical clinic, a full service bank with ATM machines, laundromats, and internet cafes.
